Wedding Recap: Rehearsal and Dinner

Friday evening, the day before the wedding,
our rehearsal began at 5:00pm.
My bridesmaid, Chelsy came by shortly after the luncheon ended
to help a sista out with hair hair because the Good Lord knows
that I have no clue when it comes to styling hair.
I can use a flat iron and well that is about it.

We got ready and headed off the church with ailing C dragging behind.
I may have left this out up until now, but C was sick!
He woke up late Thursday night with a stomach bug.
Poor boy didn't eat or drink anything at the rehearsal dinner or reception.
It still makes me sort of sad that he did not get to truly enjoy our special day. :(

Changing subjects...

I must say that the Wedding Guild at our church were like little angels.
They made my life SO much easier on this day.
I was in such a tizzy about how to get all of the girls/my
dresses to the church, but those sweet women struck a deal with the church custodians
on my behalf, and we were able to bring them to the rehearsal.
We locked those babies up in a Sunday school classroom over night so that all of our essentials would be there waiting for us the next day.
SO nice.
They were a tremendous help in every way and I think I would have been about 100 times more nervous than I already was if it were not for them.

Anyways,
I am a serious slacker and have pretty much, um zero, photos from the rehearsal.
This is the only one I could find!
Although, I am sure someone, somewhere has more...this will have to do for now.
As you can see, I am diligently listening to every words the Priest has to say
while C is off in the corner goofing around.
Typical.
Loved this Lilly dress, btw.

The rehearsal dinner was at C's godmother's home.
She seriously has the most beautiful backyard
which she fondly refers to as "The Conch Garden",
all around the yard you can find little hidden nautical treasures, conch shells!

On large table was set on the lawn.

And the patio was tented with several tables, lighting and a critical space heater.

We served barbecue and all of the fixins from JB's Smokeshack on John's Island
and it was seriously delicious.
We rounded the meal out with a family favorite for dessert, banana pudding.
Y'all, who needs a groom's cake when you can have pudding?!?

Bridal Party and dates boozin after the delicious meal.

My sweet family.
Left to Right: Two sweet cousins, My fabulous Aunt, Cousin who is getting hitched in November,
My baby nephew, my sister, and our incredibly awesome Granddaddy, 92 years old!

C's godmother, "Contessa" and I

Sweet bridesmaid, Marla.

C and his mama enjoying the amazing slideshow of our lives.

That's all I've got for now.
Be back soon with more recap!

My very first OOTD

Y'all, I can pretty much assure you that
these will not be a regular occurance.

But, I was feeling a little frisky this morning
and I decided to snap a pick of myself in the only
full-legth mirror in our home.
It lives in our ugly guest room.

I swear I am about to put these gift cards and store credit to good use.
My house needs some love now that were are officially
Mr. and Mrs.

So here it goes..
my very first OOTD:

Well, there ya have it.

Happy Tuesday!

Wedding Recap: Bridal Luncheon

Let the wedding recap begin!
I have decided to do these little recaps in the order that the events took place.

First up, the Bridal Luncheon.
I was so blessed to have a wonderful and beautiful luncheon
thrown for me by my sister, aunt and cousin.

The luncheon took place at Grill 225 in downtown Charleston,
and I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue!

I will let the photos do the rest of the talking...
well most of it!

With my lovely hostesses, Sister, Aunt, and Cousin.
How beautiful is the enormous floral arrangement behind us?!?

Tablescape and menu!
Everything was so delicious!

Mouth watering cake made by the same bakery as our wedding cake,
Ashley Bakery. This one was white chocolate!

All of the guests!

My beautiful bridesmaids.

My sweet, sweet Mama.
I would have been lost without this woman over the last year.
Well and, let's be honest, all of the time.

Bridesmaid, Courtney, who is to thank for all of these photos.

Besties since freshman year of high school.
Flew all the way from NYC for the big weekend.

Big Sis (Best MOH ever), me and Mama.
Y'all, I am such a lucky girl!

Wishlist Wednesday

Now that the weddding is behind us,
I thought I would introduce
Wishlist Wednesday
to this little bloggie of mine.

This week, the list is full of things
inspiring me to get to decorating my "office" space at home.

Let me clarify, my "office" is really our third bedroom.
Its closest is the home to all my clothing.
I have an old farmhouse dining table in there that serves as my desk.
I do my hair and make up there :)
and it is also has a an eliptical.

No design elements what so ever.
Since this is my space,
I am thinking I would like it to be a little girly and a lot nautical.
With a gallery wall of wedding photos eventually of course :)

Here is my inspiration so far:

Everything is from One Kings Lane.

Yep,
all of these things would suit just fine.

Mrs. H

back to reality

Unfortunately, it is back to reality for this MRS. today.

After returning from paradise on Friday,
it was extra hard to wake up to an alarm this morning.

But, hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
At least I'm looking a little sun kissed at my desk this morning :)

I will be back shortly with honeymoon updates!

A big thank you to my girl Alex over at

Mrs.

Hey everyone, I am one of Shannon's bridesmaids, Alex and I am posting on Shannon's behalf today so she can fully enjoy her BIG day! (She wanted to make sure her readers had the first picture preview!)

I was so lucky to be able to be a part of Shannon's bridal portraits. Not only was her hair and makeup timeless and perfect, but the location in downtown Chalreston provided an amazing backdrop.

My iPhone pictures alone were stunning. I could not even imagine how beautiful the professional ones were going to be.

Without further adieu, I present to you Mrs. Hodges.

Happily ever after.
